GROUND(NUT) REALITY

The prices of Groundnut kernel and Oil have increased by more than 20% from that at the beginning of this year. The reason for this increase is attributed to increase in liquor consumption.

Amusing but true, the increase in liquor consumption has lead to increase in consumption of peanuts which in-turn has lead to lessor Oil being produced and higher prices. So the evils of liquor is all pervasive not just on the person consuming it and his family, but on the entire society.

Just one more reason why we should abstain from consuming liquor or atleast peanut alongwith it.

  • Hi Ramya,

But our ruralised drunkards, which a majority represent, still prefer pickles and not peanuts. Your statment may hold good for social drinkers.

Been a bit busy the last few weeks. Our meeting is still pending.
