WISH YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR

The year 2006 has been trendsetting in the sense that the voice of the people has been the greatest winner of the year, definitely from the Indian perspective. So the expectation of the common man for the year 2007, on the voice of the people especially through blogging, is very high. Even as the voice of the blogworld is reaching new frequencies it is sad to see some of the top bloggers, whose words have the punch and the power to penetrate and make a difference, losing steam and interest somewhere along the way. The allegation very much applies to me too, even though my ranking would be very much low in the blogworld. But for the year 2007 I have resolved to post much more frequently, not with any intention to rise up the level of rankings, but only to re-ignite the passion among the top bloggers reiterating that if an insignificant blogger like me can see a purpose in blogging, then for them sky is the limit.

Going by the impact that the voice of the people has created in our country, for us bloggers who have taken to blogging to give vent to the fire within us to voice our thoughts, feelings and opinions, blogging is no longer just a passion but it is a responsibility, not only to raise our voice on issues but to echo the feelings of thousands of people who are not really able to express it.

It is the law of nature that every peak is followed by a trough and we cannot change it. But with our concerted efforts we can definitely increase the height of the peak. So the voice of the people including the blogworld has reached the high in the year 2006, let us all work hard and continue the rise during the year 2007 too.

  • It is important to realise what we can do with this medium before doing something in this direction. personally I have looked at blogging merely as a way to connect with outside world. perhaps I could think of concentrating on some issues - look forward to more regular posts this year.
    Have agreat new year ahead.

  • Hi Usha,

Even I started blogging just for networking, but now I see a lot more that can be done. And yes, only a well thought concerted effort can give the desired results.

  • Hari:
Blogging may be the most democractic of all media, but it sure is not free from some of the evils that beset other media. Your cause against top bloggers losing steam is, no doubt, due to complacency and the `I-am-the-best-there-is' feeling.
Or may be it is just ennui. Either way, there is always room for more at the top.
    Cheers!
