WHERE DEATH ATTRACTS PENALTY

Till now we have heard only of Death Penalty being given to criminals for the rarest of rare crimes, but the mayor of a village in Southwest France has announced severe punishment to anyone who dies in the village (Courtesy : The Business Line, 07.03.2008). The reason being no room left in the local Cementery to bury the dead. So only those people who have a plot in the Cemetary are permitted to die in the village.

Where is the world moving to? At a time when people find it hard to buy themselves a home to live in, it is indeed the height of agony when you need a place to die too.

  • So funny, but somehow such autocratic ideas will meet its own death through natural retribution. Nature has its own checks and balances. Nobody who acts in adharma will be able to do so for long.

  • I guess, where this no place for the living, will there be place for the dead. With the amount of misery and unemployment still prevalent , we need to step back and re-evaluate our commitments to the soceity
