PUTTING MORE THAN 100% EFFORT – WHAT DOES IT TAKE

What Makes 100%? What does it mean to give MORE than 100%? We have all been to those inspiring meetings where a Management expert uses the most delicious sounding language to motivate you to give over 100%. We have also seen Press conferences called for by Corporates where they boast of having achieved 120% efficiency or 140% performance etc.

But how do we achieve this 100% and more efficiency or performance. After years of research a mathetical formula has been arrived to measure performance traits in percentage terms and list out the traits that yields best results. It goes like this :

If the English alphabets,
A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z are given the values :

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 respectively

Then:

KNOWLEDGE would fetch you 96%

K-N-O-W-L-E-D-G-E

11+14+15+23+12+5+4+7+5 = 96%

HARDWORK would fetch you 98%

H-A-R-D-W-O-R-K

8+1+18+4+23+15+18+11 = 98%

But, it is ATTITUDE that would fetch you 100%

A-T-T-I-T-U-D-E

1+20+20+9+20+21+4+5 = 100%

Up to this it is fine............But moving beyond 100% is what requires extraordinary effort.

For example:

B-U-L-L-S-*-*-T

2+21+12+12+19+8+9+20 = 103%

There are similar and more conscience crushing efforts which would yield even more but I leave it for you to compute.

So, now I suppose we have a fair idea on how to put in 100% performance and more. While it is Hard work and Knowledge that gets you close and Attitude will get you right there, but ultimately it's the Bulls**t and more of such traits that will enable you to move beyond the best.
