“VOTE FOR CHANGE” – BUT WHERE’S THE “CANDIDATE FOR THE CHANGE”

The “Vote for Change” campaign inspiring every Indian citizen to vote is indeed heartening, but the real question is whether mere exercising the voting power by every citizen of India in this election can bring about a change in the governing attitude and system of governance in this country.

It is true that power to vote is the only weapon that a common man has against the politicians who run this Democracy for them, by them and through them (here “them” denotes politicians). But if it is the same old bunch of corrupt, self-interested, criminal minded politicians who are nominated to each and every constituency of the country then we only have the power to vote but not to vote for change. A “Vote for change” would happen only if there is atleast one person in every constituency who has the power to make the Indian Democracy “for the people, by the people and through the people”.

So for this campaign “Vote for change” to be successful, it should be adequately complimented by a “Candidate for making the Change”

  • You are right. And believe me if there is a candidate and he/she is not of colorful personality like Lalu or Amar Singh media will not take care to inform us about those candidates. After all TRP is their religion.
